Price Range = 250 to 350
Size = 19 and up
Preference = widescreen
Response Time = Low (5ms or lower) for gaming

basically i want an lcd for going away to unversity. i was a decent quality one that looks really nice and i can also game with. i was thinking about the dell 22" which is one sale for 280 (i thinking) or the acer 22" from fs which is 270. however everyone says that the 22 come with the tft panels which is suppose to be horrible. i have sometime to scout out deals so any products that can go into that price range is also fine. thanks.

Dell 2007WFP 20.1" Widescreen. I bought mine for $349.99 w/free shipping.
Total came to ~$398. It's an AMAZING monitor. Love it to death. Don't be scared of its 16ms response rate, I game (CS:S, NFSMW, NFSC, COD2) and NO GHOSTING whatsoever. Get it and you'll love it.

The sale is still on (has been since June) and you can get it for $349.99.

HERE IS THE LINK. (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=320-4688)

Cheers.

Thirded. I got one a few months ago and it's a pretty spiffy monitor. Has some great features to it, looks good, and performs very well. I personally got mine for $329 but during Dell's DOD it's been as low as $299 which is a great buy for this thing.

The TN 22" monitors are NOT horrible at all... They have higher response rates so they would be ideal for gaming. However, the (minimally as compared to TFT) fast response is traded off by the lack of colour dynamics/accuracy.

Check out the Samsung 206BW or 226BW if you have the extra cash.

I am building a system and hve been looking around for a monitor, the best one i've found yet is this:

http://www.directcanada.com/products...acture=SAMSUNG

its got HD aspect ratio, 2ms response time, good contrast,vista certified, its also HDCP compliant in case you decide to watch HD movies later... the price is good too!

these guys are located in BC, shipping is $10, free if you order over $300 and there is no PST...

I'm getting the same one soon!
