getting surround sound on itunes

is there any way to get my surround sound speakers(6.1) to work with itunes, it's kinda pissing me off that i can't get the most out of my system just because i'm kinda stuck using itunes

Nothing much you can do in iTunes. It depends on your set up...I have my iMac hooked up with my HomeThaater and set my Receiver to Enhance/NEO:6. I'm running 6.1 polk audio.

Go into the control panel and make sure your speakers are set up for 5.1/whatever you have.

Are you getting surround out of your other apps?
