hey guys,

a friend of mine is going to his homeland for a while, and he bought an hp laptop from futureshop 4-5months ago.

Would his laptop work on 220 voltage? is there a specific voltage converter he needs? or just a simple converter for the plug?

thanks

on the transformer part of the power cord (square box thingy) there should be some information regarding the voltages that it is capable of handling (e.g. something like 110-220V operating, which is likely). if that is the case all that is needed is the adaptor plug.

Yeah, most adapters can handle multiple voltages, so you would probably only need an adapter for the different prongs - not a new power adapter or transformer.

sweet thanks, I asked him to look at the adapter.
