I am wondering what the dollar value stated on the ticket is. You can actually upgrade the 5-day pass to an annual pass by paying the diff. in cost between a 5-day park hopper and an annual pass [ there are some blockout dates for the $239 one] but I think the ticket would state [from air miles] that it the cost was $189 or maybe $229. Can anyone tell me what the price shows for both an adult and child ticket, for a Disneyland 5-day Park Hopper ticket for both adult and child, when purchased through air miles?
So, what the deal is, you can, prior to the expiry of your ticket, take your 5-day pass to the ticket centre, or Disney city hall, or customer service, etc., and ask for an upgrade to an annual pass - you would pay the difference [of the price your tickets states it is], between the $239 [cost of annual pass, with some blockout dates - they have another higher priced pass without blockout dates but doesn't seem worth it.] They start the pass from the first day use of your previous park hopper ticket. So if you have an early entry ticket, as is the case with air miles, you will want to make sure you do so, prior to the upgrade. But then your pass will be good for a whole year, so if you can make it back to the Disneyland area prior to the year being up, it is worth it to do the upgrade. {Either $50 or $10 would be the cost to upgrade to an annual pass from a 5-day adult park hopper ticket, it just depends on the price shown on the back of the air miles ticket.} Since the air miles tickets are not currently listed as a 'sale price', I think these might be the original ticket price of $229, but, on the other hand, because $229 is the gate price, and not the pre-purchase price listed on the Disney website, it may show up as being worth 'only' $189. There are also some Disney dining discounts, and some special rates for annual passholders on the Disney hotels. To upgrade a child's pass to an annual is more $$, actually, since the child's annual pass costs the same as an adults, but the child's ticket cost shows as less money, and of course, it costs fewer air miles to purchase a child's pass through air miles.
