New Jersey Hotel reccomendations??

We are planning to head down to NYC next week. Does anyone have any recommendation on a nice, safe and reasonably priced hotel in New Jersey (the shortest subway ride to Manhattan as possible).

I stayed at Red Carpet Inn in Jersey City. Crappy hotel for sure, but a 20 minute ride on the PATH and you're in Manhattan. $55 CDN / night so it was definitely the cheapest.

I just came back from a trip to NYC.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City for 3 nights. It is a really nice 3 star hotel.

I got a deluxe room with a great view of the Manhattan Skyline for $68-70 US or $86-88 US/night after tax with Priceline.

It was very convenient because it is located right next to a Path Station which for $1.50 would get you directly into NY.

I also stayed in Newark for $52 US/night plus tax but I wouldn't recommend it because it was too much of a hassle and time consuming travelling to/from Manhattan everyday. Newark is also a pretty dodgy looking place.
