If you can't find the OEM from Costco, try Yokohama (sp?) tire from your local stores.

I believe your stock tires are P185/65/R15 and your stock tires were the Firestone FR690s or were they Bridgestone? If they were the firestones they are still available for purchase at tirerack which is an online store based in the US that does ship to Canada. But if I were you I would just replace all four tires since the Firestones are garbage tires to begin with. I replaced them on my 02 civic at like 58k kms. since they were crap. Replaced them with some Michelin Hydroedges. Although I heard good things about the Goodyear TripleTred tires. but if you want to get those you need to get tires that are P195/60/R15 which are still good on ur el.

the quoted tires sizes is correct
P185/65/R15 especially since my EL has the alloy rims.
my original were/are Firestones (at about 70k now)

Currently using Michelin Hydro Edge tires on a 2005 1.7EL. Tires are amazing in the rain. I have never used them in winter though, as I have set of snow tires.

Works fine in light snow, but not so great in snow storm, but still manageable. I used mine last yr in Winter just because I was too lazy to put on my snow tires.

Just put your make and model and it'll give you all the compatible tires along with ratings and reviews.

Michelin tires are very good tires. However they always have a low air look to them even when they are fully inflated. If I were you I would just buy the same size tires that are on the car. You have Firestone tires go to a Firestone distributor. Those Canadian Tire brand tires are not bad, I have them on my car and they are fine.
These are the only brand of tires I would buy:
Good Year
Michelin
BF Goodwrich
Toyo Tires
Pirelli's
Canadian Tire
Kumho (apparently they are good tires)
I don't trust those no name companies that you don't really get at retail stores. I also believe that Dunlop are good tires however I would not buy them, again a trust issue like come on tires from the same company that sells Tennis Balls.

Use websites like 1010tires.com & tirerack.com and look at the ratings and reviews of the tires you're interested in. Brand name really shouldn't be a concern, more the ratings and review. FWIW I replaced the Michelin tires on my GF's car w/ BF Goodrich Traction T/A's and would recommend them if you're looking for a all seasons.
