Hi guys
Need some help on In-Dash GPS for future new car
Currently I am thinking of leasing a new car (still shopping around)
and want to hook it up with In-Dash GPS from BB or FS, possibly
Pioneer AVIC-D3 or Kenwood Monitor With DVD Player Combo (KVT-617DVD).
Here is the question, does these In-Dash GPS fit in all cars??
Thanks!

depends on what car, as long as it's double din sized you'll be fine
i have a AVIC-D3 on my 2007 toyota camry and have the dash trim kit from metra and it looks like factory

While in dash is nice, to be more versatile and if you are going aftermarket, get a one that is removable so you can use it while walking around as well. I have a Tom Tom and find it very useful when I am in cities walking just to find resturants and other points of interest and occasionally, to find my way back to my hotel (LOL). Also, you won't be altering the dashboard of your leased car for which you will have to pay or return to original spec later.

Its easier to install these in Japenese cars (getting exception in newer models though e.g, accords). Older japs you can soemwhat guarantee these install w/o much modifications.
If you are leasing, i will strongly advise it. It costs decent amount to put in and take out.

Do you mean strongly advise *against* it?
Why would you spend that amount of money on a car that isn't even yours? Unless you are set on buying it out at the end of the lease, I don't see a point.

I agree, GPS installs arn't as simple as regular deck installs. If you're not keeping the car, I wouldn't do it.

Another point I want to add with portable GPS... I have a Nuvi 350. Example, anyone who parked an Disney World some would keep pressing their fobs to set off the alarm or make it beep. I happened to do the same thing too (but not at Disney World.. somewhere else) b/c I couldn't find my car. Well, a GPS would solve that.. Save your car location as a way point and it'll find your car within 2-5m accuracy when needed!

Thanks for all your comments and help!
I am thinking of leasing a car and going to return it after 4 years contract, not buying out for sure.
Personally, I don't really need a GPS but its actually for my wife, she'll lost in the city without them, especially driving.
How much does it cost to install in-dash GPS and to take it out?
Thanks again!
