Hi I am looking for a used car and my budget is about 10K to 11K all in. Been looking at domestic such as Grand AM (2004/2005) or should I go with Japanese (only 2002/2003). any recommendations? thanks in advance.

Pick up a Lemon-aid book, and stick to the cars they recommend. You could get a Nissan Sentra (recommended) that's in really great shape for the money you have to spend.

What a stupid suggestion. This is not even a Canadian (let alone a North American) car.
For the OP, what do you want? Looks?, economy?, ease of use?, low maintenance? ego feeding? Unfortunately you cannot have them all.

What a stupid suggestion.
Why is it stupid? I don't see where he said he only wanted North American cars.

You really think they want a left hand drive imported Japanese variant of a car available here? Thats' why it is is dumb suggestion.

If you're going to go GM, avoid the N platform and go with the W (e.g. Grand Prix) with a 3.8L, IMO. There should be plenty of 03 (if you like the old body style... try to get one from late in the production run so you get the fixed UIM plenum thing) or 04s (new body style... and the Series III engine).

Why not? A car is a car. The man's looking for suggestions so I gave him one.
