I've been searching for Haribo gummy bears for months after first encountering them in the US. Turns out that they're hard to come by in Canada for some reason. No stores around here have them, so I buy a bunch of packages and bring them back every time I go down to the US.
Anyway, I found them recently at ChocoDirect.com, and they happen to be on sale at the moment. They're $1.49 for a 150g package. In the US, I typically pay between $1.25 USD and $1.50 USD for a 5oz (142g) bag, and obviously have to drive a significant distance (Victoria -> ferry + gas).
Here's the link to their entire candy listing. Find Haribo under "Our Bargains":

Note that these are brought over from France, and are the European style of Haribo gummy bears. From the 2kg package I ordered last week, I've noticed they're definitely less sweet than the US ones. I find the less sweet variety better.
RFD doesn't have a store rating for chocodirect yet, but I've ordered from them twice so far. Once for the 2kg package of Haribo gold bears, and once for a fairly large number of 150g bags. Communication with them is good, and the product is shipped quickly. Gummy bears were fresh, with expiry in November 2008. $5.99 shipping regardless of quantity, unless you're ordering $200 or more, in which case shipping is free.

They are the original...not like wine gums at all, very different in texture and effect. Plus much fruitier.
In the GTA, I can find them in almost every German deli, esp Brandt.

Sweet!
For your information guys, we are currently discussing with Haribo the possibility to import the candies here in Canada.
This should be done by the end of the year ;)

Do you think you can make the candy in the form of something more edible, like the shape of a woman's body?? I Mean come on...adults dont want to eat little cute teddy bears and other cute animals of the like.

Haribo invented (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gummy_bears) the gummy bear, and they are definitely the best I've ever tasted. I've never seen them in stores in Victoria.

The more of these in Canada, the better! This is the first time I've seen them available to purchase in Canada, but apparently I don't get back East enough ;)

Quoted for truth. Try a German deli or grocer.
No problems finding them here in Alberta if you know where to look.

Most of the German and Polish stores sell these and other yummy candies and cookies :)
Chocodirect also have very good service. I ordered from them 3 times this year and they are always very helpful with product questions :)

I ordered this about 3 weeks ago. Not that great IMO. The bears were pretty bland and way too hard. The regular generic retail brands are a lot better.

I get them from cousins in Switzerland. They didn't really wow me, but I like them.
Saw them at London Drugs the other day, was surprised...but check your local LD since you're in Victoria.
