Hi,
I just noticed that I lost my receipt for the TV I bought just a month ago from Bestbuy's Oakville location. It was paid by giftcard that I still have? Is there a
way to get a re-print of the receipt? Maybe based on TV's serial # and gift card?
Has anyone ever had a situation like this before?
Thanks

They usually ask for a phone number
If you didn't give a fake one, it's searchable that way.

If you paid by best buy card or bought an extended warranty, it will be reprintable at the till within 90 days. After 90 days they can reprint but it's a pain in the arse.
If you paid by gift card, but didn't buy warranty or use a credit card on the transaction at all (partial payment) you may be screwed. They normally don't have physical copies of this type of transaction. They may be able to search using the sku and date, but will hate you for making them do it.
Good luck.

If they asked you to enter in information (phone number and possible name, etc if you never bought from them). That information is for the warranty but its also stored in their accounts. I don't think they would keep copies of invoice for over 30 days so you could still be out of luck.
Best bet is goto customer service and ask.

i think should be ok as long as those people still have the S/N from your TV.
it depends, if they are lazy, and forgot to put the S/N in the system, .... :| :| :|

The serial number of even small items like DS Lites are scanned in - it's standard operating procedure. It's to prevent people from buying an item, then refunding another (usually broken) item with a different S/N.
The chance that the S/N for a large item like a TV is not scanned is fairly low...

I remember the guy never asked for my info, he did however scan the S/N.
I got a tough luck reply from Heartland as a general inquiry when I went to pick up some CDs. Going to check Oakville BB where I actually purchased the unit.

they can find it...but like mentioned earlier...its a pain if you do not provide the right info...and the cs rep will have to be in a good mood that day.
at bare minimum you will have to go back to the store of purchase the exact date of purchase and the sku. they can query the system to pull all sales of that sku for that day. from there you two will have to go thru and manually filter the results to find ur transaction.
it can be done...but at the discretion of the cs on duty unfortunately.
for added incentive, tell tell the manager on duty you wanna add an extended warranty to that product...hehehe...im sure he can find it.

i work at that location. paying by giftcard, its like next to impossible basically unless u still have the giftcard. because u didnt buy the service plan, or make the purchase with a credit card, they will have difficulties finding it.

nice try rob... its actually possible to find and ez to find... if he knows the exact date he bought or at least very close to it its findable, we use something called inventory movement report.. and once u find the rite invoice number we can pull up a copy of invoice

if he didnt give them any info, and only paid via gift card, how would they pull up that sale?
