What do you need this for? If it's DVD playback, you can use the computer to convert from PAL to NTSC, or buy a DVD player that can play both

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can this converter allow N. American DVD players to play a Region 4 & PAL Australian DVD?

Region locks on DVD are a different story, just rip with DVD Shirnk or Decryptor, and you can make them region free

Not seen anything like this, though I've not looked much honestly. Check out some of those smaller electronic retailers on Yonge Street. The ones where you're not entirely sure if they're an "authorized" retailer or not. They may carry it.

As for simply playing DVD movies, you don't need anything whatsoever, except just to buy the right DVD player... and there are many out there. I have dozens of DVD's from the UK that are both PAL and Region 2. Just google "remote hack DVD Players" and you'll find tonnes of info on which players to buy, and how to make them play any DVD from anywhere in the world. It's merely a matter of punching in a numeric sequence on your remote control. Once, that's it, and from thereon it will play anything. It removes the format and region restrictions.

I've had a Daytek DVD recorder for over 3 years now. Works like a charm and watch any DVD I want on it.

Wish I saw this earlier. My aunt and uncle are moving back to HK and offered to give me their 27" multisystem (able to play NTSC/PAL/SECAM). I said no. If I did, I coulda given you a great deal on the TV and allowed you to play PAL games. Too late, they gave it to someone else...
