I am wondering if anyone has dealt with teh costco glasses people before. Me and my father are both looking for frames and I saw that they have prada and what not frames for about ~250, which is about 50$ less than a chinese store and obviously I trust Costco much more. I didn't get a chance to ask about lens, but did anyone try this service and how was it?
Thanks in advance

the service for glasses is great.
after i had my glasses a month or so, i decided i should have gotten the transition lenses.. i took them in to have it done. i wasnt aware that they had to start from scratch and put new lenses in my glasses. they charged me nothing and also charged me nothing for the transition tint! i found that to be fantastic service.
a few months later i had a slight problem with one of the lenses, no questions asked, lenses replace free of charge!

Awesome, I looked at the frames and the prices are amazing for all the great brands there. I'll definitely have mine done there too.

3 of my family members purchased glasses from Costco, and have been doing so for the past couple of years. Great prices, and great service! If you ever need any adjustments done, they do it on the spot, free of charge, and even clean your glasses for you!
I would definitely recommened Costco!

We get all our glasses from them They are very helpful and cheaper than the rest. Also you can go back in anytime and get free tune-ups.

Sounds like I'm going there tomorrow, thanks a lot guys.
One day, Costco will become a huge monopoly and sell us everything except Win-tel internet, which sucks.

Sorry bring up the old post. Just want to know are all costco selling same frames? or some location have better choices of frames?
By the way, FYI, from Aug.3-31 they have $35 off for transition lenses. So for 1.67 hi-index Essilor Crizal lense plus transition, total lens cost about $250, not bad. But the frames are not looking good (was at Richmond hill costco). The eye glasses store in the building I'm working quote me $320 for just 1.67 hi-index lense without transition coating yet.
Which costco at GTA have better choise of frames or they are the same? thx.

I bought my glasses from Costco. I went to 2 locations and they seem to be almost the same (mind you, I was only looking at a few different frames). I asked and they said that all Costco's have the same frames because the glasses are put together in Montreal and they have all the same frames there.
They said that you can just buy frames from somewhere else and bring them into Costco and buy the lenses from them if you don't like any of the frames.

Great. I don't know they allow bring own frames to Costco.
Good to know. Thanks.
That solves my problem.

The prices are good.
The service is good.
The quality of the lenses themselves were poor in my experience.

Oh... They use Essilor Crizal lense which should be one of the best lenses in the market. And I found out that Costco might be the lowest price for these Essilor Crizal lenses.

My Essilor Crizal lenses are the thinnest, clearest, and longest lasting lenses I've ever had. Overall fantastic lenses at the lowest price at Costco. Can't go wrong.

I guess I just didn't have much luck with mine at all, and I had them re-done after the first month...
My Rodenstock lenses are much higher quality, you pay for it though (or your medical plan does).

I've never had to be a member to purchase glasses there. I just went last week to get my eyes checked. They also provide free replacement of the nose pads for the last 3 years.

Boy, I'm confused now.
Someone says you need membership, others (inc. my brother) said you don't. Guess it depends on who you see? Because I need some contacts :)
But I wouldn't mind having a membership if it didn't cost 40 bucks because in the last year, my family and I have gone to Costco a max of 5 times.

When I first went there I specifically asked if I needed a membership to purchase glasses there. The associates said no. So I just walk through the exit side (where the sign-ups are) and take a number. Even when they adjust and fix the pads (for free) they've never asked for a membership card.

No, the glasses are produced off-site, so it typically takes about 1 week to get them.
