Weird car audio install problem

Hey,

So here is my dillema. I bought a new car stereo and installed it(bought a new wiring harness). The unit powers up fine but I didnt get any audio at all from my speakers. I thought the unit was defective, but Futureshop says the stereo is working fine. So a friend and I reinstalled it again tonight and yet still have the same problem - no audio. We have made sure it wasnt anything silly like mute being on and tried it in different modes.

The old stereo works fine when its reconnected.

What could the problem be?

Ah, figured it out. My Mustang has an external amp that has to be bypassed in order to get the stereo sound working.

Now I just have to Google around and hope I can find out how to do that.
