I am going to the states for awhile, and friend of mine who works as a car dealer in TN is going to sell me a 94 Civic.

However, I am not really sure of the legal issues being Canadian and driving a US bought car in the US. Does anyone know if its legal and if I need insurance from a Canadian company or from a US based firm?

Thanks

You need US insurance for your US car registered in US and driven in US. Your Canadian driver license allows you to drive US car but you may need a US driver licence (I don't think you need to go through a test again) in order to register an US car in US.
