MJM is a reverse Dell.
Dell: 90% reliable, 10% lemons, but is mostly known for its lemons because there are so many.
MJM: 90% spam, 10% helpful, but is mostly known for his helpful posts because there are so many.
EDIT: I just realized this is favourite poster. Since MJM isn't my favourite poster, I'm not voting for him.

MJM is a reverse Dell.
i'm not sure "reverse" is worded correctly in the sentence...
if "reverse is what you mean, then it'd be sth like:
Dell: 90% reliable, 10% lemons, but is mostly known for its lemons because there are so many.
MJM: 90% lemons, 10% reliable, but is mostly known for his helpful posts because there are so many.

I don't want to rock the boat here, but aren't most of MJMs deals YMMV? I know he's helped a lot of people with them, but the majority require online PMs that don't work due to shipping or instore coupon use which is at best hit-and-miss.
I appreciate the effort, but whenever I see a "deal" from MJM I generally pass it by as there is no way it can apply to me.
I'd like to nominate AG2000 (for his Canadian Tire threads) and felix (for starting the best known thread yet - the Memberworks/giftcard thread).
There was also a costco employee that used to give us all heads up on deals, but I don't recall his user name atm...

But if they can't qualify, then MJM. In 34 500 posts, obviously you're going to have a lot of useless posts, but he also has alot of relevent posts amoung them. He does make me spend too much money though....

Thank you, that's exactly who I was referring to. He doesn't post many deals (or any at all that I can recall), but he adds a lot to the hot deals forum by confirming, denying, or just giving great information that otherwise would be very difficult to get. He's also incredibly credible ( was going to say very credible but I like incredibly credible better), and if it weren't for those pesky confidentiality issues I'm sure he'd spill the beans on all kinds of deals :D
if you've read the last few stooples PM deals, you'll find out that's not the case ;)
You are correct on this, I would never have known. The WoW one isn't available online and neither is the mouse, but you haven't combined the impossible online and very unlikely instore combo in a while. There were a string of monitor deals in the not too recent past that frustrated me as I was in the market for a new monitor :)
Don't get me wrong here, I think it's great all the effort you put in and you've helped a ton of people, but I personally feel that quality should reign over quantity when it comes to recognition.

it's the recent Acer/Viewsonic LCDs i'm talkin' about ;)
oh and BTW, WOW *is* found on online... errr... you didn't read the thread's OP ? :-0
There were a string of monitor deals in the not too recent past that frustrated me as I was in the market for a new monitor :)
the PM/coupon(s) stooples threads that you're saying is "YMMV" - not really. i've hinted at a possible solution a few times in those threads before... ;) dunno whether or not you caught it, but it's there :)
