My Jeep cherokee rear bumper needs to be replaced as I backed into a tree stump at a cottage this weekend.

Any idea how much it costs including labour to replace this?

I know I need to know all the facts first but I'm wondering if I should put it through insurance, I have never been at fault for an accident in the past.

thanks in advance

Probably look at around 800+, bumpers aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

What year is your Jeep? I may be able to get the bumper for a fairly decent price, however with labour/paint it will most likely cost as much as cwb suggests.

Depends on the damage. Most bumpers nowadays are plastic covers over a foam type substrate. If there is only damage to the cover, it may not be so bad or cost too much.

its a 2002 limited edition. the damage is on the rear passenger side bumper. I imagine the whole bumper has to be replaced. You'd think it would only be worth a few hundred dollars. So thats why I assumed $1000 or more. :)

Rush Auto Parts has one for $350, they ship anywhere in Ontario. You should get it fairly quick. They are located in Caledonia.

thanks to all, I actually got this fixed in Oakville for $860 all in, they didn't have to replace the bumper and it looks as good as new. The body shop two doors down offered me a "deal" at $1,400, glad I got the second quote.
