But I have question here, at beginning I bought netstea with coupon and with some other stuff, nestea is totally free with $3coupon. But when I just bought a box nestea with coupon, they charged 40cents for TAX. Although I did not argued with them, I want to know if canned drink should be charged GST/PST or not?

Ya, it gets taxed.

Wrong forum though bud.

You also could have posted in the old thread about this instead of starting a new topic.

If the coupon was for a FREE item, then the customer would NOT pay the tax out of their pocket; the total, (value of the tax and price of item), is calculated towards the value of the coupon.

If the coupon is for a stated value, as in this case, then the customer pays the tax before coupon is applied.

Hot deal either way.

dollar off coupon does not include taxes, i.e. product price + total tax - dollar-off-coupon amount.

I didn't get taxed during the no-frills deal. The register actually said that they owed me 3 cents.

I thought the boxes with coupons inside were all gone from the nofrills deal.

Just to confirm, the coupons are back in the Food Basic deal?

thx.

And is there a limit to how many coupons you can use per purchase? (given that i can find boxes with the coupons inside now)

Says 1 per person per purchase on the coupon

Coupon said one coupon one purchase, but Today, Foodbasic cashier does not mind it, I saw someone used several coupons at one time.

Says 1 per person per purchase on the coupon

are they strict about that?

since fellow RFDers have been purchasing 3 and getting 3 free last time in the nofrills deal

The answer above. thx

1. Iced tea should not have been taxed. Frutopia is taxed

2. Some stores have the coupon some don't. In Ottawa the Carling Ave Food basics had Frutopia with the coupon, but Nestea without. The Kanata FB had Nestea with the coupon.

I tried to use one of the $3 off coupon to get a case of 12 can of Nestea Ice Tea when purchasing groceries at Food Basic today and the cashier stated that they are not accepting the coupon. I'm not one to like to hold up the line so I just said ok. But later reading the coupon, it states that the seller needs to mail in the coupon to Coke to get the $3 back. So any reason why this Food Basic isn't accepting my coupon or is it just that cashier?

Looks like Coke got a little smarter on the coupons this time around. During the No Frills sale the Nestea Zero had the coupon on it for a free Nestea Zero. This time around the coupon is on Nestea regular case for redemption of $3.00 off a Nestea Zero.
Too bad because with the no frills promo I could cut out the coupon in the car and go back in and get more free Nestea Zero.
If you plan to get the 5Alive ot Nestea Regular (the only ones I saw with the coupons), the actual coupon is printed on the back of the English label portion of the case and its right dead centre, giving you lots of room when you cut the case for the coupon. Doing it in the car saves you another trip to the store.

I was looking for the Nestea Regular ones with the coupon, the stores I went to only had the 5alive and fruitopia.... which location were you at?

brother had a knife on him so we cut it out in the car, the case is still pretty stable, no torn boxes :)

I got the Fruitopia for free at Kanata food basics. I just showed the coupen and I didn't pay a cent for the case. The Irony I thought was that the free case had a coupon for $3 off as well. I would of went back had they been open later. Had you had a way to carry all the cans home you could of got alot of free cases of Fruitopia.

Anybody have a link to the coupon? I wouldn't mind free Nestea Regular!
PM me is appreciated.

You have to use the coupon cut out from the box. So, printing it out wudn't work.
And Food Basics $2.98 deal is over now.

They also had a deal before with Quaker oatmeal, it was $1 and a lot of the boxes had a $1 off coupon.

So I went to the store with my scisors and got a box, went to cut out the coupon outside the store and got about 15 boxes oatmeal free in the end

I did share them with people at least :)
