This is a review of one chain of an electronics store.. I had a particularly bad experience about 6 months ago at this store buying an HDTV. First of all the staff were fairly knowledgeable, but were dishonest about details they did not know about. Because I am an extremely well-prepared consumer, I was easily able to pick out the holes and misrepresentations in what they were telling me.

My biggest issue with the store is that they were selling a large TV at a good price, but the label clearly showed the model number for the current year. However, only when it arrived and I looked at the manual and back of the unit did I see that it was actually the model from the year before. I was able to return it without problems, but nonetheless this is a clearly unethical practice, or at the very least a bad mistake.

When I returned it, they made false claims about the capabilities of the old model, and they also claimed that it is still in production. Both of these assertions were refuted by a call to the tv production company itself. Nonetheless, the return was problem-free and is a positive for this store.

Based on my bad experience, I would be very hesitant to recommend a purchase at Krazy Krazy. And if you did find a good deal, I would suggest being very cautious, examining the product in detail and the paperwork/receipt to ensure you are getting what you think you're getting.

Where are such stores?

I remember seeing one in the 'peg (Winnipeg) a few years back - do they still have one there? Are there more elsewhere?

Well, I'm not surprised that you would be given such service. For one thing, a sane person wouldn't call their electronics store "Krazy Krazy", and second, I would've immediately bounced away from a store with that kind of name.

Brandon has one too. Their car stereo guy is pretty competent with both vehicles and electronics.
