I'll try keeping this short...
So I bought a cell phone at Future Shop 6 months ago, now the phone is broken. I bring it back to future shop to get it replaced. They ask me if I want a different phone, of course I do. They said I can choose a phone with a current retail value equal to or less than my broken phone.
This is where the problem begins, the current retail value, of a new, same model phone (as my broken phone) in store is $250. The retail value of the broken phone when I bought it was $300.
So the question is, am I suppose to be able to choose a phone with a retail value of $250 or $300?
Thanks for reading!!!

Sorry if my post is confusing, Future Shop said I can choose a phone with retail value up to $250, but I believe it should be $300.

+1
everything depreciates in price, especially electronics, you're lucky to even have a choice other than your phone as a replacement.

If that is true, then what would they do if they don't carry the phone anymore? I have been told many Future Shops across Canada are not carrying this model anymore. It came with a 3 year Product Service Plan.
edit: I know they would ask me to choose another phone, but how would they know what value? Would they go by my original receipt of $300?

Look, I own a 21 inch LCD mon where the original owner purchased it 4 years ago with a 5 year PSP. Price on the receipt? $1800 CAD+tax
If I go through claims now, will I be able to pick up a 42 inch LCD TV? Didn't think so.

being an employee of BB in the cell dept, the way its suppose to work is that u get a phone of equal features of ur phone if ur phone isnt available, not value. so to be honest, consider urself lucky. they do let you pay the difference though if u want a different phone that has more features and is more expensive

hmm, when i did this at my local fs, i told them i paid 150 on a 2 year for my phone, and they let me pick any phone that was currently 150 on a 2 year.
