They take SIM cards, but they cannot be unlocked. It will NOT work in Canada.

They take a sim, but if you put in a sim from a Canadian provider, you will get a phone - not a Sidekick.

You CAN'T get this to work in Canada. It HAS to have a T-Mobile account to work.

Check some of the hiptop forums online, and you'll see MANY angry Canadians because Sidekick 3's aren't available AND if they try a T-Mobile Sidekick, don't work here.

So if we were just looking for a cool phone. That gives us calls, text, camera etc we would be good? Or would we still need to unlock it? I've never used any data plans and don't have plans to, but I text a ton and this seems like a decent idea.

Clear this up for me if you can. Thanks
