this probably has come up before, but just to mention and see your opinion - the Best Buy clerk refused to give me the extra 10% on a price match between Future Shop and them. she said it is the same store so they no longer offer the 10%. I called the manager and asked to show me where does it say this in their flyer. she (another girl) started reading with me and found the "Terms and conditions subject to change without notice." and said "here! because of this it is at our discretion" and then she gave me back the $4.20+tax just to make a point how nice she can be.
btw the fight was over this mouse, which i got for $15.79+tax from BB

Just tell whoever clerk, that to clarify for their re-training, you'll call Best Buy HQ whether you get 10% off or not. Easy number to remember 1-866-BESTBUY.

Last time I PM'ed between these two, the girl at the cash gave me the same story. So I asked her if I could use one store's gift cards at another, or if I could return a purchase from one store to the other. She called her manager, and the manager OK'ed the 10%. I felt bad for the girl, because I know she was just doing what she's been told, but sucks for FS and BB as they can't have it both ways.

I work at BB and the official word around here is no more 10% off for FS-BB pms.
Some of us will still give it because we may forget from time to time. I agree it's ********. BUT, you are not being lied to when an employee tells you the 10% has been removed.
And yes, the cashier was 100% right in telling you the 'Subject to change without notice' is where the 10% policy is removed.
If we wanted to, we can say we changed our PM policy so that you have to pay us quadruple the difference between the 2 prices, and we'd be protected by our legal terms. You'd never shop at BB again, but the look on a customer's face could very well be worth never getting their money again :D:D:D

If you have changed your T&C then do so. You can't say you did it just when I come and ask you to go by them. Do the complete Price Protection terms (I think comes in a little folding flyer) say that PM against FS is applied differently? T&C are a bit more official than telling me this verbally. The big boards above the cashiers don't seem to 've been changed either.
as BD006 pointed out you can't have it both ways. I read an article where BB execs were bragging how brilliant and successful the idea of keeping two separate stores has been for them.

technically BB and FS should PM eachother but the thing is that the company did not add eachother as a competitor on their to price match list.

has anyone tried contacting BB customer service? the phone call quality is horrendous. are they using VOIP?
I was reading the online Our Lowest Price Guarantee (http://www.bestbuy.ca/helpsection/EN/online_policies.asp?onlinepoliciesID=1&logon=&langid=EN) and nowhere do I see exception applicable just to FS so I wanted to have this clarified.

VERY GOOD POINT...
Yeah I think this is BS. IF they want to be the same company, then why not BE the same company. Sheesh. If they want to be different, then stay different.
Annoying as hell.
So what is the final word on this? If we call BB or FS HQ (are they the same) will we get honored the 10%?

Wouldn't it be unfair sales practice given the fact that BB and FS are the same company?
I mean, FS/BB will PM anyone else but themselves with the extra 10%?

I just checked the new best buy pp policy.
On the latest website page:
no more mention of 110% or 10% beating, just MATCHING
Future Shop is still 110%, though. (Lowest price Guarantee)

Holy shiznit!!...You're right....
Oh well, I guess I'll stop buying from Bestbuy.
Let's all boycott BB. Teach them the power of the RFD/Price Canada effect.
