HELP! I need a fragrance-free hand soap recommendation, something I can buy in a store. I'm allergic to any scent and they changed the last brand we used to something perfumy. Gone are days of plain old ivory, everything seems to be scented nowadays. Any brands you can recommend I can look for, and the store to find it in if you know? Thanks so much!!!

I agree with you, hard to find anything plain.

Now I'm only using handmade/homemade soaps that are made from scratch and I purchased them from farmer's markets or online.
It's more pricey, but I love knowing exactly what goes in. The colors, textures and scents also come in wider assortement.

If you're looking for something really simple, fragrance free, try a bar of "pure" glycerin soap (see through kind).
Omer Deserres and other craft store places sell plain soap bases that are intended to be melted or mixed with other ingredients.

Interesting! Never would have considered a craft store. If all else fails and I don't find something ready made, I'll have to look into that, thanks!

The soaps are "ready made" btw. You do not have to melt them or mix them with anything else. (unless you want to add some colorants and scents)

They are sold in large blocs and can be cut with a regular kitchen knife.

I was confused by your references in several threads, so I had to look-up this soap business. Oh me0kat... that's gross, dude! That thread did keep me entertained through lunch tho.

This is not an ordinary thread - this is a thread asking about hand soap recommendations. We already know your habits, so you answering in this thread is only very slightly ironic.

If you're that sensitive why not try Spectra Gel. It comes in a pump, can definitely be used as a hand wash and does come in a non-scented version...

How is it ironic? If you read all my posts, I never said I don't wash my hands.

I probably wash my hands 5+ times a day, I do use handsoap. Just not necesarily right after I used the bathroom.
Even if I didn't personally use handsoap, i don't live alone. I'm familiar with bath and body products and I have an extensive "collection" of soaps, scrubs, body washes and other toiletry.

Wow, that's excessive. I probably wash my hands 5 times a week.

Buy my stuff.

If you go to loblaws or a health foods store they sell glycerin soap in these big bottles and it says it is unscented right on the package.
it is a 500ml or 1liter bottle, I forget.

It is not a pump bottle though and I forget who makes it.

Aveno might be unperfumed and u could use that one your hands , don't see why not.

Also, anyone that doesn't wash their hands after the washroom, that's pretty gross:confused:

I always wash my hands and also before perparing food and while cooking ect.
Also always wash my hands before eating or use hand cleaner if I'm out :)
Used to work in foodservice/restaurant so we had to wash out hands a lot!
