$64.99 @ NCIX: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=24609&promoid=1060

$5 express shipping still makes it cheaper for those not near an NCIX, too.

PM @ BB to save $1.00 to $1.50 (depening on proximity to NCIX) I guess :D

Why do people buy these retail when everybody and their grandmother is selling them at the same price at least without taxes, IF NOT BETTER in the various forums?

Right now there's about 6 threads where they're being sold.

I dunno, maybe because there are so many fake Memory Sticks out there? Seriously I could never buy an MS outside of an authorised retailer without always thinking in the back of my mind whether it's fake or not, and if it's going to randomly start giving errors or crap out.

I'm not saying anyone selling theirs has fake ones but I'm just saying there's so many fakes out there that people just prefer to stick to buying them brand new from a retailer instead.

As for the Lexar ones I'm not even sure if there are fake Lexar cards but I'd still rather be "safe than sorry" when it comes to MS in general.

I can respect this concern. As with everything nowadays, ONLY buy from reputable traders. :) Like .......

Even a reputable one, they won't be secure. When you buy it retail, you can return it if its bad or something. If you buy it from people, its an hassle if you live far from them....so its safer to buy it Retail since most sellers charge more sometimes.

hence reputation is key.

If someone is selling something and is reliable to warrant that it is genuine. What is the issue?

Lol "safe than sorry".

4GB fake sticks were going for about 10 bucks. A lot of them still work, they are virtually the same thing. About 1 year or two.
People have even reported even faster Read and Write Speeds.
8 Fake Sticks vs 1 Real.

Actually, Platinum II's have limited lifetime warranties.

So while they may be slightly slower in terms of read and write, it's nice to have the added insurance.

what does limited lifetime warranties really mean for this kind of product (MEMORY STICK)?

is it worth it buying this LEXAR with Limited Lifetime Warranty over SANDISK with 5 Year Limited Warranty for an extra 10$?

THANKS!

bring up your purchase to $100 and get $10 off. Use the BB coupon.

In regards to why not buy from from the FS forum, maybe someone needs it real quick and doesnt mind pay $10 extra for it. sometimes its worth buying from the store than driving around town to pick something up.

Also some of the ppl in the forum dont even have their location setup properly and takes them days until they get back to you.
