Good deal on a quality set of irons. Even with shipping and taxes, should be under $350 Cdn all in. Cheaper if you have an amerifriend who can take the order for you.

$199 US + $40 US shipping to Canada. With the exchange rate at present, not a bad price at all on nice clubs.

Nice deal. How are these clubs? I have an old set of Tommy 845's. Have Tommy Armour clubs advanced much in the last decade?

I've original 845 silvercot as well pretty good club even after 20 years. They're not popular anymore but make decent clubs, price is good too.

Ya rock bottom golf is legit. Many have purchased from them multiple times, including me with no problems.

They also have an eBay store.

Can't seem to find a decent review of these. Are they good for a beginner?

They say CB but they don't appear to have much of a cavity back.

Shipping might be a little cheaper with this:

More than legit... most of my clubs come from them... they've also replaced (free of charge) a 7wood that has broken on me on the 1st swing last year so their customer service is Top Notch.
The Golf Shox Nike's at $59.99 is also a steal... retail $189.99 at Golftown... LINK (http://rockbottomgolf.com/nike-shox-golf-shoes.html)

These are forged (vs. cast) so I wouldn't recommend them for a beginner or even average golfer.

I was at the Calgary South Golf Town looking for a new set of irons recently, and these were on for $399. Now I don't know if that's the case for all Golf Town's stores or not, but if you'd rather not order from the States (though RockBottom is very reputable) it might be a good option. I ended up going with a different set of irons but these are a very nice set of forged player cavity backs that are a good price because Tommy Armour isn't one of the bigger names.

I wish I didn't see this thread, going to have to spend a lot of money here.

Dollar almost @ 95.

Good deals on Irons and Putter, used Pro V1's for a decent price.

If you're interested in these irons, you can pick them up for less on ebay through Proshopwarehouse. If you're patient (they appear to have a lot of stock), you should be able to pick them up for about US$130 or less + US$45 shipping. That's what I just paid.

As shown in the following URL, the TA Silver Scot irons have a Maltby Playability Factor (MPF) rating of 454 which is in the Conventional category....definately not for beginners or even intermediate players.

Beginners should typically go for ultra or super game improvement irons.....MPF rating of 701+....the higher rating the better (generally speaking).

Thanks for the link DavidY!! That helps a lot.

I was tempted at this price point but if they are going to make my game worse then it is hardly a red hot deal.

What I need is a set of irons that pick the ball up and carry it to the hole:lol:

Now to find a deal on those Callaways with the MPF of 1209!

Edit:
These clubs:
http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/07tarmorphimrh.html

are not listed on the Playability list , at least as Morph 845. The 845u have a MPF of 989.

Any thoughts on these, $129USD inc a sandwedge sounds like a deal.

It's $298 at Golftown downtown, originally $799... Not sure about the other locations.
Just checked golftown.com and it's still priced at $799.

Have you considered getting a used set of irons? Even though I am in BC, I have bought two sets of used quality irons from Ottawa the past two years. Here are two links to golf enthusiast forums in Ottawa and Toronto:

http://forum.ottawagolf.com

http://www.torontogolfnuts.com

Lotsa good used golf stuff in Ottawa. If I was local, I would be buying and selling golf equipment like crazy.

Mine arrived today. I'm not much of a golfer (haven't played in 6+ years) :D , but didn't have any problems adjusting to these clubs.

$239USD +$ 37 CAD in duties

I'm pretty satisfied.

If you are looking for a deal on an easy to hit club, Golftown has the Ben Hogan BH-5 irons on for $199.

In the playability index noted above, they are on the borderline between Ultra Game Improvement and Super Game Improvement.

I've hit them and they are very good irons.

If I sell my backup irons (XPC4), I would be considering a new set of Tour Edge JMax QL combo graphite irons (#3 and #4 are Ironwoods and 5-PW are irons) for US$199 plus shipping at Rock Bottom Golf. These are on Golf Digest's 2007 Hot List Silver and are priced CAD$499 at Golftown.

Ben Hogan BH-5 and Cleveland Launcher LP irons are under consideration in the CAD$200-$250 range at GT. Would like to see the LP's drop below $200 since it has only 7 irons (4-PW) vs 8 irons (3-PW) for the BH-5. Nevada Bob's may also have the BH-5 for $199 too (if they have any stock left).
