Hey guys, I had a question about getting your license to work as a bartender. (I'm thinking about trying for it sometime soon)
For those who have it, or those who might know about it, do you have to renew the license after a couple of years? and where would you renew it?
Thanks in advance!

I believe all you need to bartend in Ontario is the smart serve certificate. You do not need any of those mixology courses, though they do seem pretty cool.
Good luck being hired straight into bartending though. It's rather difficult because most places want people with experience, and promote their own servers to bartenders within if they don't hire someone who already has bartending experience.

Thanks for the info.
You're probably right about it being difficult to get hired straight into bartending. I've got some connections though at swiss chalet, but I'm not sure if I'd get in easily, but it's worth a try if I do get my license/certificate.
