Wallet chains are actually pretty useful if you are going to be visting countries like Spain, Italy, or farther into Eastern Europe. So many pickpockets are out to get your things.

Depending on where you're visiting, your tourist pocket change could be 50X the local monthly wage. In that case, having your wallet on a chain sounds pretty smart to me.

agreed.. was quite convenient when i was going around europe... especially london where i just took out my wallet and let it touch the scanner for the tube so i didn't have to take it out :D

Back in '94 when my classmates were rockin them, they got them from pet stores (dog leash) and fashioned their own wallet chains.
