The snake was throwing up.
After a snake eats, its supposed to rest for about 3 days...but those punks decided to mess with it and made it throw up what it just ate.

The snake was throwing up.

The narrator is saying that when a snake feels a threat, she is capable to regurgitate the food to facilitate her escape. Another amazing fact of nature.
