I found out about it from isonewz. I used to know about fatwallet already and a lot of their us coupons for office depot worked for us here :). Anyways one day someone posted a bunch of candian sites that were like fatwallet, since a lot of canadians there were getting frustrated at the US only deals being posted, rfd was the only one that appealed to me so I joined :)

bought something off some guy on hofo...
Then he mentioned some other great site for buying and selling stuff.
So then i joined RFD to buy and sell my used goods.

For the longest time i thought RFD was just a buying/selling site...
Then i realized there was offtopic.

Then many yrs later i realized it was for deals.

I was googling for computer part reviews and I stumbled upon pric3n3twork. A few months later I saw someone posted something about "RFD" and decided to google it. I then stopped going to pric3n3twork and then began my daily visits to RFD. It's just too addicting... :|

i found it through some accidental google search in 2003, lurked the forums for about a year.

then i got off for about a year. in summer 2005 i was gonna buy a new computer and wanted to see if newegg would ship to canada. a few google searches later and evil techies' post about newegg expanding to canada brought me back to the site, and i registered the second time around.

I found RFD through the newsgroups I believe. I used to visit a small message board that had coupon codes for onvia.ca (similar to staples.ca with hot prices after huge discount coupons), but that site went dead somehow, and later I found RFD shortly afterwards. I didn't register until 2002 but had visited the main page prior to discovering the forums.

Was in the market for some used parts to build a computer for a friend, and my buddy sent me links to some FS threads on rfd. Signed up just to pm, never bothered checking out the forums untill half a year later. My daily post count would be alot higher had I checked it out then. ;)

This is a good thread to help the forum owner decide where best to market RFD!

Through a friend, it happened to be exactly during one of the Dell's Day of Deals. Imagine being introduced to RFD and being told that if you want that price you HAVE to buy all in that exact same day. I was using the newsgroups years ago, until it got flooded with a bunch of threadcrappers. Some guy emailed me, and told me to check this place out (moderated and less chaos) and I've been here ever since.

This site also has got a cool catchy name to signify it's canadian. Instead of the usual "Canada" or "Canadian" deals which is what everyone will typically use - "RedFlag" is definately original.

I found this joint while I had a few extra minute's to do some trolling on the net earlier today

I then decided to take a closer look at the Forum's, there after doing so I registered up as a member

I find this Forum to be well thought out, easy to navigate and genuine, that compairing to other's such as Kijiji & Craigs List to which I have absolutely nothing good to say about at all

So hello to all the member's here, and I will be looking forward to getting to know some of you through posting

Thank you

A lady came to my door one day last summer trying to get me to sign a fixed-price natural gas contract. She said it was the best deal that was available in Canada. I told her I needed to do some research before signing the contract and asked her to come back the following day. I then went over to Google and was going to run a search using the terms "best deal Canada natural gas", but my finger slipped and hit the enter key and I just ended up searching "best deal Canada"...this site was the very first link that popped up.

I've been here ever since...

One day, my glasses broke...They normally cost > $100 a pair in retail stores...So, I try my luck online and googled "prescription eyeglasses"...Up came a RFD thread titled "Prescription Eyeglasses for just over $30 shipped"...I never knew they sell eyeglasses online! The $30 eyeglasses were my first online purchase ever...

I learned lots of stuff from RFD, such as pricematching/negotiating skills, buying/selling things, staying up to date with latest technology, how to get stuff for free, and sometimes, how to get paid to buy stuff :)

Thanks RFD!
