COIN is the Italian equivalent of The Bay. Benneton is also a lot more common there than it is here. And don't laugh but Bata stores have a lot nicer shoes than their Canadian counterparts.

I could have sworn there's already been a thread on this subject though.

heheh that would be my thread, alas I didn't get much shopping done when I was in Rome.

Oh what I did buy was the Limoncella and also a lot of Maltesers while at the airport, they are so much better than here in Canada ! oh and the rosaries at the Vatican.

Here is my previous thread:

There is lots of bootleg clothing over there... if it's from a famous designer brand and way cheap, you will know.

There are tons of mid-high level designer outlets outside of Roma and Milan. A friend just went and picked up tons of furla purses and wallets.

If you are spending a lot of money and planning to get the tax back, make sure you bring all the stuff you bought with you to the Gate, the place you get the stamp will want to see each item.

What does this mean. You can't check the items you bought with your baggage. They make it absolutely difficult for you but its worth the trouble.

I'm still burning from my first time there and didn't know.
