meh, If you want to be healthy just drink less, if you have to drink something all the time drink water, if your going to have a beer you might as well enjoy it, it's sort of like diet pop...whats the point if its not what you really want...
if you just want low calories and quick drunk...wine or something hard will get you there faster... although your liver might not thank you :P

If I want a beer, I want some taste. Try Unibroue brands like Maudite, Trois Pistoles, La Fin Du Monde, etc.
Corona is like a Labatts that's been diluted 50% with water. It may be a good thirst quencher in the summer, but why use beer for that?

Can we please just have a beer sale thread without pretentious boobs telling us what they think of the beer that is on sale?
If you don't like it.. don't buy it. Most of us here don't really need others to tell us whether or not we should buy a brand of beer.
Personally I'd rather drink raw sewage than Maudite... but that is irrelevant to this thread.

I love when threads get like this.
It makes no sense, because one persons taste differs from anothers. If you enjoy drinking Corona, then this is a good deal. If you enjoy drinking Guiness, then this deal is not good for you. I don't get why people go off on ridiculous rants over what they should be drinking? If that was the case, only 2 or 3 brands of beer would ever sell.

I think it has something to do with the fact that, of the hundreds of types of available beers, Corona is just the worst of them all...

I think it has more to do with the fact that some people feel obligated to offer their opinions even when nobody is asking.

i like corona, i hate however blue light, coors etc... Favourite however is Kilkenny, great stuff that beer is. All my friends love corona, and if you dont like it thats your personal preference. In my opinion that Trois Pistoles was the worst tasting beer i ever had. It might have been a bad batch or something, but i had a couple sips and that was it, and i switched to water....

The double and triple fermented European style beers can be a bit of an acquired taste, depending what you're used to. It's sort of like having an expresso when you're used to drinking regular coffee.

smoking deal, if the one that the guy posted 24 for 29.99 is true. I usually get them for about 40 something i forget. Its funny how i see some people hate corona, they tend to hate mexico in general too :P. Anyways corona is way better then blue and all that stuff labatt makes.

Note that the 24 for $29.99 is for the far smaller bottles... 207ml or something

Coronitas. I've had friends buy a case of them and not realize until they go to drink one that they've bought "coronitas" and not "coronas".

People should also drink Coke instead of sprite. Get hawaiin pizza, not meatlovers, etc.
Having said that, if you think that Corona had a flavour profile at all similar to a Labatt product, diliuted or otherwise, well, your judgement might be called into question.

Coronitas. Cute little beers. Anyones for those near the Quebec border. Is this deal better than buying then at Costco in Gatineau (I heard it's pretty cheap there but not sure if it's worth the trip)?

it's hardly a big discount considering the cost but at the same time, i don't remember corona's ever going on sale whenever I was browsing through.

But then you could brag you drank a 24. (It's the equivalent of less than thirteen and a half regular blues.)

I'm fairly certain the only purpose these bottles serve is to trick people into buying them because they think they're getting a pricey beer for a lot less.

Not only that, but you are also paying more $/ml for the little 'uns. $.60/100ml for the small ones vs. $.51 for the regular size.

or to market to females (some may prefer smaller bottle), seniors, or lightweights! lol
It's similar to those half size pepsi cans, you pay alot more for those, but yet you still see some people buying them.

Yeah, worst stuff ever! LOL!
It was the #1 or #2 selling beer in most of the hotels, bars, restaurants that I have managed over the years. There must be a reason for that even though it's the "worst of them all".
I have a favourite beer but I am not going to share it because I want to keep it all to myself, it's all mine, got it?!
Thanks to the OP for posting this deal.

This is pure hyprocacy. If someone mentions a deal from 3Web, MGD, etc. people come out of the woodwork to criticize the deal. Why? Because product quality as important as price in determining what is and is not a good deal. So the quality, or lack thereof, of Corona is certainly fair game for discussion. It is fair to attempt warn people that Coronoa is the awful stuff that it is.

When I'm buying the beer, I buy what I think tastes best, is best quality, and is best value/dollar, this usually means Euro 500ml cans. When I go to someone else's home, I happily drink whatever beer is offered and keep my mouth shut. I may prefer other beers, but there is no beer I've ever drank that I wasn't able to finish! ;)

A couple of things I felt obligated to point out.
One - pretty much everyone who drinks beer has at one point or another tried the beers that are discussed here so nobody needs people to come on and tell them the beer "sucks" - whether it be labatts, guiness, corona or whatever.
Two - your opinion, his opinion & my opinion are just subjective at best. You can't measure the quality of a beer - everyone has different tastes anyway - therefore trying to say a beer is awful or no good is laughable and completely dependent on the person.
Thirdly.. Corona is one of the top selling beers in the world. Surely some people out there must like it. I guess it must be because they've never tried all the darker beers that the sophisticated beer drinkers recommend

I fail to see your comparison. Everyones taste buds are different. However, a crap shady vendor is what it is regardless who buys it. Taste of beer is completely subjective. Therefore, unless it is a brand that no one has heard before, why comment on its taste. Like someone else mentioned, it is like telling people to drink coke and not sprite.

Costco sells beer in Quebec?
Sigh....now I know why my friends in Quebec make fun of me when I say we have a "beer store". God forbid I should buy beer in a grocery store like the rest of the planet.

Subjective tastes come into play for anything... whether it's a food item or a car. With (relatively) homogeneous goods, it's the idea of perceived value that's also a factor. The more opinions, the better a consumer can make a purchasing decision. Let people complain/praise the beer all they want.

I think this theory is only useful when it's something that many haven't tried. If there was a sale here about Coke, would the people reading the thread really need opinions on whether or not others thought it was good? Not really - everyone has tried it and formed their own opinions already. I think the same goes with common beers like Corona and Labatts.
All these threads do is give the beer snobs a chance to let everyone know their tastes are much more sophisticated and real beer drinkers don't touch Corona and/or Labatts. However, for the most part regular beer drinkers don't take their opinion seriously.. quite the opposite as I'm guessing anyone that passionate about it would probably just get made fun of by most people.
