View Full Version : Where to unlock vodafone or orange cell phone?

where can unlock my n93 for a cheap price....?
i have a friend would get me a cell phone in UK....
but i heard those top of the line cell phones are pretty hard to unlock now...
any advise?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the N series phones are BB5 generation. They cannot currently be unlocked by any third party. You will have to contact the wireless provider that locked and subsidised the phone, to provide an unlock code.

yeah...i heard that too...
but can u just pay them in CANADA tho?
r they gonna ignore u if u r not in UK?

Typically you have to a customer of that provider for more than 3 months and have a good history with them.

i know shops can't unlock them. but check ebay. i saw some people there selling codes: search for BB5 nokia. Never tried them, but it's fairly cheap. Give it a try and post results.

The best thing would be to get your friend in England to sub to a phone plan, keep the phone in the UK for a while, then get your friend to call Vodafone / Orange for an unlock code.

Some version of BB5 can be unlocked by Dejan. (it was released recently, mother's day) check out the gsm-hosting threads
