sustained beep on power up on win98 system

i sometimes get a sustained beep..actual high pitch sustained sound at power up on my win98 system...what is the matter with it?

Out of range temps (bad CPU fan) ? out of range voltages (bad PS) ? Win98 system ... I suppose it's old ...

ya, i blew a little compressed air over the fan (my fan sits basically in the front) and seems to have stopped it for now. so does that mean that i will probably have to replace fan. i read somewhere that my power supply may be too low..but problem occurs only occasionally so i will go first with the fan issue.

Do you know your CPU temps (idle/load) ? How about all the voltages (+3.3V, +5V and +12V) ?
