Went to Zellers yesterday looking for a some auto wax/cleaners. Turned out they had a great deal on various auto care items.
For example:
Zymol wax/cleaner wax - Reg$19 - $4.50
Turtle Wax Pro Carnuba Liquid - Reg $16 - $3.50
Turtle Wax quick detailer wax (similar to Eagle 5 minute detailer or Mothers wax-as-you-dry) Reg $9 - $.50 CENTS
Turtle Wax Auto Glass Cleaner - $5 - .50 CENTS.
They had several other things too, like wheel and tire cleaners as well as other wax products, but these are the only ones I bought. I doubt all stores have them, but would definitely be worth a drive.
This was in GP, Alberta BTW.

it's an okay deal for "non-specialty general car waxes". All of these are Turtle Wax products... :|

Zymol is turtle wax?
The quick detailer products works and looks basically the same as the Eagle One/Mothers products.
Can't speak for the Turtle Wax carnuba as I've never used it, but for $4, I'll give it a try. :)
They had other stuff there too which wasn't Turtle wax brands. Probably a dozen or so different items at a fraction of regular retail.

Just went there again during lunch to see what else there was. Here is a few other things.
Extra large chamois (over 1Mx1M) $2 and $3 (depending on brand). Regular around $13-$15.
Armor All Tire dressing and Armor All wheel cleaners - $2. regular $8-ish.
Eagle One Nanowax - $4.50 and $5.50 (they had 2 different ones). Regular about $20.
Also had deals on things like sponges and wash brushes.
Also had some 3M auto products marked right down too, but didn't buy any. Like waxes and swirl removers.

This was the case last month, if you search for zellers automotive clearance that thread should pop up. The discounted stuff scans up lower sometimes than the clearance sticker. In my case I picked up armor-all wipes, zymol, lots of tire cleaner and shines last month. Great prices. Most of it was older Armorall stuff, but there is some new things too.

That's exactly right. In my case, they had a scanner right near the auto aisle so it was really easy to check, and not just a surprise at the register.

Zymol is turtle wax?
The light blue bottled stuff that is @ CDN Tire and most department stores -- yes. The real European quality product is spelled differently (note the punctuation on the 'o')
"Continuing to go after the top segments of the market, in 1995 Turtle Wax took aim at classic car owners. The company teamed up with Chuck Bennett, maker of Zymol Natural Liquid Auto Polish, to offer the pricey polish ($20 a bottle) to the mass market. The polish contained coconut and banana oils, almond paste and aloe, and a touch of vitamin E. Turtle Wax also announced it would use informercials to introduce two new products in 1996: Lubricator 2001 is a new engine treatment and Sudden Shine is an auto polish."

Thanks for the link, that was actually an interesting read! :)
Not sure if it means anything, but this stuff isn't a polish, its a wax... and the "O" has an umlaut over it (the 2 dots). Nowhere on the bottle does it mention turtlewax co anywhere.
Either way, I've heard decent things about the product so I'll give it a whirl for $4. :)

Here is a pic of some of the stuff I picked up at my Zellers. Should last me a couple years hopefully between our 3 vehicles. Might want more of that Ultra Gloss spray stuff. It seems quite good.

Missing from the pic is a couple things I already put in the garage, but still, for less than $40 (I think), pretty good deal!

Went out of car wash liquid this past weekend. I picked up 2 little bottles (591ml) of Turtle Wax car wash (blue) for C$1.27 each (~ 50% off). There's no signs no nothing. You will need to bring the items to the cashier to find out the discount.

Yes, in my case it was the same thing. Luckily, there was one of those price check scanner things on the end of the auto aisle so it was easy to check. But, you're right, they don't seem to be advertising this clearance very much.

Yep, the Zymol sold at major retailers, isn't "real" Zymol, it's just Zymol-branded Turtle Wax stuff.
The real Zymol is a much better (and much more expensive) product.

Thanks OP ... just picked up $32 (tax in) worth of stuff. This is what I remember that I bought:
- 4 2packs of Armorall wipes (glass + protectant)
- 2 bottles of deicer that can be used in windshield washer fluid
- 2 bottles of Windex glass cleaner (if my armorall wipes start to dry out I can replenish with this I would think)
- 2 bottles of bug/tar cleaner
- 1 wash mitt
There might have been some other stuff too. Can't remember. Not bad! Should last me awhile. As you can tell I'm not a car care fanatic ... I just like to be able to do quick cleans here and there on the go. I can't remember the last time I actually cleaned my car at home. I usually do it while waiting for the car wash, in a drive thru line, waiting for my wife at a store, etc.

8 years detailing my car and tuner cars for show 'n shine competitions you get to know the products really well. Only since the past 2yrs have I really decided on using Meguair's as my "mass market" wax. All others are smaller speciality companies.

You're not kidding, following your tip to look there I went back at lunch:
Workmate workbench thing (Not B&D, but their brand) - $7
Big pack of electrical cords and adapters - $2
adhesive laser level - $3
And this was a fantastic deal - AC Delco emergency jumpstart power pack - $8! Worth their weight in gold if you ever run your battery down!
Various racheting clamps - $2
Some really, really good deals. I also picked up some 3M detailer and various sponges/brushes all for less than $3 each.. in fact, most were closer to $1.

Hillcrest Mall Richmond Hill On:
12v Portable Jumpstart system (has 1 accessory socket & small light) $8
Automotive pressure washer soap $2.50 for 4l jug
Heavy Duty degreaser pressure washer soap $4 for 4l jug.
They had lots of:
Cheapo vices $8
Automotive Emergency kits (12v starter, 12 inverter, air compressor, triangle etc) $16
Knock off of B&D workmate benches
no-name dremel tool set
5 inch B&W TV with spotlight & radio $25
large plastic showerheads

Automotive Emergency kits (12v booster pack, 200W inverter, air compressor, triangle etc) $16
That kit had me tempted. Includes a rechargeable hi-watt flashlight too. Trouble is I already own each of those things, and the kit wasn't AC-Delco, it was some no-name. Still for $16......
Plastic sawhorses $1. Full size, and reasonably heavy plastic.
Various "Diana" brand tools $1-$3. Looks like leftovers of a 'ladies' line of tools.
No-name rechargeable 3/8" hammer drill $12.
Coloured floodlights $1. All kinds of 'kitchen-drawer' type fasteners and hangers 50 cents.
There didn't seem to be any attempt to organize the sale products, it felt like going to a flea market.

Richmond, BC, Zellers did not have any Turtle Wax products, Armor All on clearance (yellow sticker). Those that are on clearance also scanned in at 50% off the clearance price.
Things I found:
- 3M stuff were on clearance: gloss enhancer, tire cleaning solution, liquid wax (but after the discount, their liquid wax is only 40c cheaper than the Turtle Wax liquid wax, regular price), sponges
- Eagle 1 Nanotechnology wax (bought it to try it out)
- bag of towels
- windex (auto) - sold out
- cleaning towels - sold out
- Mr. Clean eraser for your tires - only one left
I don't think any of the Mother's products were on clearance, at least nothing that fancies me. I would skip this location.

If there was, there wasn't much.
It was mostly Turtle, Armor All, Eagle One, 3M products.. with the odd simple green and windex thrown in.
But, for each of those products, they almost all had various quick detailers, waxes, polishes, tire dressings, wheel cleaners, glass cleaners, etc.

looks like this one but it is black and didn't have that little exhaust thing in the back. At canadian tire, this one, which have the same spec, was $40.

I picked up the Mr Clean Set for $20 then about 6 filters and soaps, as well as some tire care stuff, emergency 5 in 1 kit, chamois's, rags, scrubbers and a mixture of other car care stuff. But this was all last week with my last purchase coming Friday evening. I went to my local Zellers today and scanned a few items and they were all back up to their clearance prices, not the clearance prices including additional percentage off. So I think the deal is as good as dead.
