Hi all,
Currently I have DSL service from Bell. I am also trying out Acanac:

However, in both cases my incoming speed remains around 2100 kbps. The outgoing speed is OK though -- 800 kbps.
What may be the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Distance from Bell Central Office on local loop, and line quality. Mine was just under 3, with 5 meg dsl service. Remember Acanac is using the same Bell line as Sympatico, so I very much doubt they can improve the speed being a physical problem to your house.

Thanks for the reply.
If the distance is degrading the download speed, why it is not affecting the upload speed?

Are you testing your upload speeds with the exact same recipients, during the exact same times, under the exact same network conditions?
Is your upload speed better with Bell or with Acanac? What difference is there?

Both upload and download speeds are similar with Bell and Acanac. I get the full upload speed of 800 kbps with both of them. But I get lower download speed (at most 2200 kbps). It is not related with any specific time. I checked it at different time of the day for several days.
BTW, I collected the information from my modem (2Wire from CC).
Thanks.
