prices for DDR2 are falling like mad... already I see 1gb sticks of this ram for $42.99(http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11230BD8752&vpn=RM12864AC667&manufacture=CRUCIAL%20TECHNOLOGY) which is already ridiculously cheap. My question is that I would like the RAM ASAP, but wouldn't die without the upgrade, so is it likely that prices will fall even more? Or jump on this offer?
And on the same note, will this RAM act in dual mode or will i have to buy specific dual channel ram.
EDIT: i mean 200 pin

It might drop. It might go up.
I jumped on it at $55/stick about a month ago. I don't regret it. The increase in productivity for me was well worth the $10/stick difference. I work in Photoshop/image editing quite a bit and moving to 2GB has helped immensely.
If you find yourself paging often due to lack of memory, get the ram. Is saving a couple of bucks (I know this is RFD but...) worth the slowness?

It keeps dropping, however, with Santa Rosa coming up, I'm not too familiar with what type of RAM it'll use. The current platform, Core 2 Duo has a 677mhz FSB and the RAM is 667mhz PC5300, the Centrino Pro platform has 800mhz FSB, so I assume it'll be PC6400 800mhz SoDimms.
If that happens, then I'd pick up the sticks soon. It was 54.99 at ncix a few weeks back, and I bought one, last week it was 49.99, and I bought another :p

Dual Channel has always been more of a desktop 'thing', notebooks never really took that up and often never made a real time difference.
