Go with the one that has DVI if you can use it. I was stuck using my 22inch on VGA after using DVI for a few months and it is horible. I'm back do DVI now and never want to have to use VGA again.

my dads now telling me to get this Acer 20" one..

but this one has 8ms response time, but has a higher contrast ratio of 600:1

.. hard decision. $30 more isn't too big of a deal.

If you're set on going widescreen, please move up to at least 20". A 19" widescreen actually has less desktop space than a normal 19"...kind of useless.

What are you looking for? Gaming, graphics, innernet, movies, or what.

Thnx. I'm definitely looking into this one @ FS tommorow. I'm also reading some reviews of this over @ Hardforums. Seems like everyone is satisfied with it despite its cheap base stand?

Yea, I thought about it. I'm gonna look at the 20" for sure now.

A little bit of everything. But mostly for Word documents, movies, web surfing. Also a little bit of CS once in a while/

Alright now I'm also looking @ this Acer 20"

I'd look for a HDCP-compatible monitor like the Samsung 205BW so that when the time comes you can watch HD-DVD/BluRay titles on it at full resolution.

Of the ones you listed definitely get the Acer. It's only about $10 more expensive than the cheapest computer store and FS has a much better return policy.

Thnx to everyone who helped!

I just picked up the Samsung 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor (206BW)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10084227&catid=
was gonna wait till maybe when it drops to $299, but then the salesperson told me it was $399 before, it is on sale right now.

I was really leaning towards picking up the LG LG 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor (L204WT), however my dad didn't like the fact that they didn't carry black, and would think having silver would somehow ruin my eyes  and black is more subtle and comfortable color.

I hope I can get used to using widescreen ;)

It's not on sale right now. The price just dropped $50 dollars since last week.
