are you looking for any particular features scripting / joomla / database / sql stuff?
I have a few friends using dreamhost that switched from 1&1 cuz 1&1 sent a collection agency after them even after they cancelled. 1&1 is great, just read the fine print if cancelling their service.

doteasy.com for simple sites

I use hostmonster (http://hostmonster.com/) they have pretty much unlimited anything and I havent had any problems whatsoever. I host about 15 domains on 1 account and it is 5.95 a month. Not bad because I used to buy small 2.95/month hosting packages from Routhost.com but after setting up 2 or three sites you end up spending way more.

Pros: Unlimited domains, mysql, php, all that good stuff, a ton of webspace (more than I'd ever need), and it runs on cPanel, which in my opinion is the best admin panel. Most suitable for personal or small-medium business web hosting.

Cons: only one hosting package to choose from, shared ip, probably not suitable if your gonna be setting up a gigantic company website.
