Does anyone know a cheap and reputable domain name register? My aunt is looking for one, and I think she wants to link a geocities account to the domain, so people can access it from her .ca or .com. Also, geocities has ads, is there any "builder" without the ads for cheap?
Thanks guys!

www.1and1.com
This is a UK company, so you can't get .CA but you can get .COM domains.
You can get the 3.99USD monthly package which offers 1 free .COM domain and website building tools.
I highly suggest you don't only purchase a domain from them, it's like 5.99USD a year FYI. I don't suggest it because when you use a domain to mask a link hosted from elsewhere - it's not masked entirely, and with the Geocities ads - just plain annoying.
Check out all the packages here:

My wife and I registered our domain using www.domainsatcost.ca and they were excellent. I think it was $14.xx after taxes, in $CAD, for a one-year registration.
We are hosted with dreamhost.com and I built the webpage from scratch using Notepad and Dreamweaver (I didn't get Dreamweaver until the bulk of the site was built, stupid me! Dreamweaver is awesome!!!).
