"Second best" laptop for those of us who missed out on 640M

So, if I wanted a laptop that had 2GB memory and was decent in other respects, and I wanted to spend around or close to the price of that 640M deal that expired (I believe it was *gulp* $679 before tax), what's the next best thing? Or is that one such a huge anomaly?

A few hundred people didn't order a laptop on a whim because of a tiny deal to be had. We're talking $700 smackers. It was the most expensive impulse buy yet for me. Good luck finding a deal nearly as good... doesn't hurt to try huh.

I mean, I can order a slightly better one from Dell right now that is about $1079 before tax, so it's only about a $400 saving. But that's like the regular price. For $800 or $900, are there similarly good laptops out there on sale?

I guess I'm just asking for the "next best thing" than that 640m
