Traffic Accident on 401/404 Express

Anyone know what happened? I'm just looking out the window and theres a HUGE traffic jam on the Eastbound collectors lane right before the entrance to DVP/404. There's also a huge traffic jam on Westbound because of people slowing down and watching what happened :|

It was a terrible accident and it's had equally terrible consequences on traffic.

A two vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Leslie has sent one person to hospital and forced the shutdown of part of the highway.

It happened around noon, when a tractor-trailer and a car collided in the eastbound transfer lanes from the collectors to the express, just east of Leslie.

There's no word yet on the cause of the crash, but the effect on traffic has been severe. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area, and the express lanes will be closed until at least the start of the afternoon rush.

looks like this might be the cause the OP might be thinking about... seems serious though that a 2 car crash can cause so much trouble

If you checked the MTO Compass cameras around the time of the crash and for 1 hour afterwards (maybe even now) you could see the accident scene quite clearly. It was on the Leslie / Bayview 401 cameras.
