How much would it cost to get lenses put into frames that I am thinking of buying off ebay? Obviously, the frames are cheaper on ebay, but I'm wondering, do eyeglass shops charge a premium if you don't buy your frame from them?

Anyone work in a shop who can give me an approximate cost for lenses, not the most expensive thinness, but just regular thin..

prescription is
-425 / cyl -075 / axis 165 (right)
-600 / cyl -050 / axis 020 (left)

You thinking of going someplace like Hakim Optical for your lenses?

Just make sure that you are buying the real deal on Ebay. I wouldn't buy anything "name" brand on Ebay, the risk of it being fake is extremely high.

You pay the same price for the lens, but they normally they charge a $10-15 fee to cut the lenses into the frame. Some places may not, since they make quite a bit on the lenses already.

Normal lenses are about $65, but IMO, it's going to be pretty thick and possibly ugly depending on the size and style of the frame.

Just go to a decent place to get it cut. Better hope they don't make errors on your prescription because your axis is a bit "odd" and you have some cyl that could effect your vision in the right.

I went to one store, and on a $220 frame total came to $360 estimate... $140 for the lenses?? I believe it's normal thin (but not thinnest) plastic lenses... and not Nikon, just regular lenses I believe..

is that right on my prescription?

Depends on where you go, you can keep haggling them.

$140 may not may not be right depends on how thin, how light, and if anti-glare is added to it.

But again, keep haggling them and sometimes lens can be expensive...

I have astigmatism and the price gets worst....
