oo ok i get the original question now.
You can set your pictures viewable to 'everybody' in privacy, so you'll be able to see the pics without being friends with him.

It's not the shooter, the guy posted to his livejournal that it's not him.

He's been getting death threats.
Honestly, just let the media report it when they know. All our thoughts should be on the victims and survivors, not the shooter.

Yes, so you can still copy a direct link to the album and send it around.
the album setting viewable to 'everyon'e could be a default setting?

no, thats whats bothering me. 'everyone' is NOT the default setting.
the OP's friends link is: http://vt.facebook.com/s.php?k=10080&id=6202368
and nowhere does it show his albums or anything, so this leads me to suspect that facebook has a glitch which allows anyone to view a non-friend album.
someone can probably figure out the link's "code" and break it, but im too tired.

Ok lets try this again...........
There's a setting to make pictures viewable to everyone.
The VT guy's pictures are set to viewable to everyone
Therefore you can see his pictures by just hitting the URL directly. (i.e. someone who IS friends with him can copy the URL and pass it around)
Just because his profile is not public, doesn't mean his albums aren't. I don't know how else I can explain this.

My facebook profile pic has me holding my Colt 45 cal. I don't care what some people may think, my friends know me well enough that I wouldn't even think of doing harm to someone else so that's all that matters. If some random person thinks I'm a gun nut and that I'm threat, so be it.

Well seeing in Canada, guns are a secondary item and many do not own, then yeah, we'll think you're a gun nut, easily.

Not really...... I know people that own that many guns and they are probably healthier then anyone on this board.
Go up north to and meet someone that hunts.
he'll probably have a dozen rifles just like that. He'll also have family and kids that he loves and a respectable living.

nope... but trust me... they are damn good for target shooting.
I know someone quite well that enjoys those types of firearms and hes an active member of his community. He's also quite into philanthropic efforts. He's also a pretty well rounded individual.
And just b/c those guns are black doesnt make them any more deadlier. Your typical hunting rifle, duck hunting gun, or clay disc shooter can do more damange then those.

You're right, Guns are great. I'm sure thats how we're all feeling right now.
You gun advocates ever take a day off? Its a bit like Budweiser throwing a talgate kegger party outside the funeral of a drunk driving victim. (thinking back to Heston and the Columbine incident as well).

what makes no sense is the fact ppl were sending death threats to wayne chiang, even though the shooter was dead (or very close to getting killed by the cops). does anyone know if these threats happened after the news came out that the shooter had died?
then again it may have been ppl venting (understandably of course).

its funny how the true gun nut wasnt perpertrator of the shooting... But rather just a random guy that probably never even enjoyed guns as a hobby that created.

If you'd left it at that, I would have been fine with it.
But to suggest that as a non-gun hobbyist I am in the same category as a mass murderer, is a grave insult to myself and any other non-gun hobbyist.
I had even made the effort to use desriptors as this and advocate out of respect for you, rather than the ones that most people have in mind right now e.g. "gun-nut" "gun-fanatic" etc.
I could care less who did the killing. It is you advocates that get paranoid everytime something like this happens, that you feel you must interrupt peoples remorse or grief with the same posts everytime "gee, thats too bad, sorry it happened....but don't take way our guns!". Show some sensitivity at these times and those of us who dont share the same hobby (borderline obsession in some cases) might better understand where you're coming from. Relax...noones going to take away your precious weapons.

as big of a gunnut i am...if you look through the mainVT thread, it was just people responding to the peopl ethat said "omg. they should bann gunz even tho the guy bought it from a thug that scrapped off the serial numbers..."
Its the Anti-gun people that always use tragedies liek this. Look @ the coaliation for gun control... Wendy Culkier is still riding on Mark Lepine and the MTL ecole polytech.
