Hey i lost my keys with the keyless entry remote for my honda and i know the key has a chip inside. My question is if the dealership is my only option to get these replaced or is there a cheaper way? I just dont want to get raped when i go to the dealership.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

From what I know, the dealership is the only place. You give them your VIN number and they will order a replacement for you. When I had to do this, I paid $80 for just a basic key. You will probably be looking closer to $200 with it being a "chip" key.

Can you imagine you could find one on ebay: "Honda chipped keys for sale! Only $9.99 free shipping!"
I would rather keep this part of the car dealer only.

What Honda do you own? If it has a key-based anti-theft then it will have a transponder key. You do not need to have this key purchased from a Honda dealer. However depending on how their system is setup you may need to have a Honda dealer either code the key or learn the car to the key (or both).
Also a Honda dealership does not need to cut the key for you either... There are locksmiths that can do that if you have the key code and VIN.
You don't have any spare keys???

Its a 2002 Civic Si, and yea it does have a key based anti theft system because i had a duplicate made and it only works on the doors but wont start the engine. I've got another key and remote but those are my last and its obviously always good to have 2 sets.

for reprogramming the ECU.. you might be able to have a keysmith code it for you on the new key... coz i dun think it is using "rolling code" that new immobi uses.

get the key/reprogram (if you feel that someone knows which is your car) from the dealer but get your remote from ebay http://cgi.ebay.ca/2002-2005-Honda-Civic-Si-Keyless-Remote-W-Program_W0QQitemZ330107918387QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33 723QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and program it yourself.
i haven't tried ebay but many people have had success with ebay key fobs.

most of the ebay sellers include reprogramming along with their fob sales.
