Hi,

Would anyone be able to recommend a good mattress for me to get? My current one is probably the worst mattress you could get in terms of comfort. We both wake up with upper back/shoulder/neck pains every morning.

I am looking for a queen size mattress around 1000-1500$ (just the mattress) which is fairly firm (hard) that you don't sink uncomfortably into. I have a memory foam topper so that takes care of the softness anyways.

The main aspect for a mattress I want is that if you move, the other person doesn't feel it. We are getting poor nights sleep because even if someone is turning while asleep, the other person feels it and it will wake them.

Simmons Beautyrest looks like a good choice, but I don't know if I can get one in my price range.

Thank you

We bought an Obus Forme (the company that makes devices for ailing backs) from Sleep Country (http://www.sleepcountry.ca/default.asp?CName=ObusForme&Index=2516) just over 2 years ago and cannot be happier with it.

Just saw an ad in the Metro newspaper (Homes section, p.6) and there is a tempur warehouse sale. It lists the queen size at $750 plus 2 free pillows.

Here's the info:
Down Under & TempurPedic Warehouse Sale (Apr. 12-17)
5170 Dixie Road (s. of 401)
905-624-5854

Does anyone have any experience with this mattress? All I know is when we were looking at mattresses a few years ago, it was the most expensive item in the store.

We bought a "sleep number" bed, http://www.sleepcountry.ca/default.asp?CName=SelectComfort&Index=2512 about 10 years ago. Without a doubt, the best bed we've ever had. Nice and comfortable, we can each adjust our own side to the way we like and after 10 years, as good as new, no sagging, no flipping, etc.

They're pricey, but it really is the last mattress you buy

That is one thing, most mattresses last for years so money shouldn't be an object... but I have financial concerns right now (I need landscape, shed, etc...) so can't put as much as I'd like.

I'll check the ones recommended.

Plug for Halstead Mattress Makers in Calgary

They make their own mattresses. I have the one where you can adjust the firmness by swapping out the foam insert. The left and right sides of the bed can have different firmness's. I prefer more firm, my wife more soft. No problem!

Been sleeping on the mattress for 6 years. Will definitely go back to them when we need new mattresses.

I just called them. The $750 mattress is NOT tempurdedic - it's one of those other knockoff brands.

Thanks for looking into it...advertising can be quite misleading!

We have a 'knockoff' memory foam mattress and it is great!
So I wouldn't write off the $750 option, but like anything else memory foam comes in different densities and the base foam can be of different qualities too.
