Landlord/Tenant Question - Credit Check

A friend of mine is a landlord and he asked me what are the ways he can go about doing a credit check on potential/new tenants.. i didn't know the answer...anyone know???

the only one i can think of is maybe a recent paystub from employer...anything else?

Rent Check Corporation - use their Equifax and RentCheck reports

Check/confirm current employment and confirm length of employment as stated by prospective tenant, check/confirm with current landlord, seek references and name address of relative and confirm. I think credit check is just one aspect that has to be interpreted.
