What do you think about putting 12" tiles on a bathroom wall.

I've used 10x13 tiles for a bathtub surround and walk-in shower and they both look fantastic. I used an offset brick pattern.
Is that what you're asking about or are you thinking about using tiles on the "regular" walls (not around the tub or shower)?

When we redid our oldest son's bathroom last year w used 12x12 tiles in the tub/shower. It looks gorgeous and gives a much higher end look IMO...

if done correctly it can look great. Make sure to make good use of schluter or similar trims to finish it off.

hubby and i are planning on redoing ours in the next year or so. we were planning small tiles in the shower and something bigger for the floor.
then we stayed at a hotel in montreal. they had 16 by 16 tiles in the shower and on the floor, and it looked fantastic.
we're going with that.

The only place I can say I've seen this is in public washrooms (not with 12" tiles of course), so I'd be concerned that you'd end up with the feel of a public washroom.

Nerd, not may folks go for the bathroom completely covered in tile anymore. It can look quite dated to most folks even if it's brand new. Some are doing accent walls, say like the wall the vanity is on, in a dramatic tile like glass or marble for effect.

CSKsMom: Thats what I want to do, but the person who's paying for it wants the tile.

No problem - go for it! We just installed 16" limestone on our shower wall (brick joint) with a mosaic border & looks fantastic. It's very trendy now to put large tiles on walls... If it's a regular wall, you can also install the big tile half way up & add a border to finish the edge - if you are not sure with doing entire wall in tiles.
Here you can see some ideas...
