View Full Version : [Merged] Reminder - Icoke.ca movie passes.

ZenOps
Apr 6th, 2007, 04:19 PM
Collect 6,500 Icoke.ca points and reedem them for 1 movie pass.

I've seen a lot of 2L cokes with the Pins, they are worth 500 points apiece. Also:

"During the month of April get 1500 iCoke CoinsTM every time you enter 5 PINs (up to a max of 10,500 iCoke CoinsTM)"

So you would need to buy ten 2 litre cokes (probably $10 or so) to get a movie pass this month - and have a some points left over. Not too shabby depending on how much a movie costs in your area.

so basically, in BC, movies at our decent silvercity theatres are like $10-13... meaning it's watch a movie and get lots of 2L pops :cheesygri

I became a VIP and haven't received any spam. Main restriction: not valid for IMAX. Passes I received this week don't expire until April 30, 2009. :)

Considering movie ticket is at least $10, each cap is worth at least $1.

i believe the min. pts you'd get for each pin is 500

i don't drink pop that often but for the participating coke products i've seen that have pins, they get you at least 500 pts.

Unfortunately I don't think it is a mistake... nice how it was posted just before the regular movie passes got taken off the site. 5 movie passes vs 2+pop/popcorn? I know the theatre stuff is overpriced but I don't think 2 pops and a popcorn have the same value as 3 movie tickets.

In the past they had 'dinner & movie' deal which I believe was $25 gift certificate to Kelseys and 2 movie passes for ~28000 pts, that made more sense. Oh well, I'm glad I loaded up on tickets - I got 8 so far this year. I still have 60 000 points to spend so I hope something else good comes up. And yea, I drink a lot of coke :cheesygri

If it is over 14 days do i get my points back or they give me some substitute or something? Can someone post the number I should call to tell em to do something?

doogle's post was an update, the cineplex single tickets have not been available for quite some time. I also really appreciate the update, I just went and ordered 4 (the max per week) as I was waiting for them to come back. They are a much better deal than the 'night out' IMO.

As far as I know, yes. I've called them before and I always get an answer that the iCoke passes are acceptable for any movie. I had heard that it was the cereal coupons that are the passes not allowed but I have used those many times on NO PASS movies also.

Empire went and gone within a day or two, I was lucky to get 2 of them before they went sold out. Hopefully they get them back as I was hoping to get 3 or 4 of them.

You will probably be getting an email rejecting the second order. When I ordered tickets in the summer, the site said two per week and the drop down menu allowed me to order 4. I currently have 96,000 - I normally hover around 100,000 depending on movie ticket availability. I don't work at a bottle depot but I do drink coke at work, normally around 3 600ml bottles a day during work hours. Luckily I have a fast metabolism or else I'd be huge

IMO movie tickets have been the best value of all that is offered but the night outs are not as good as the admit ones - 2 pops and 1 popcorn do not equal 3 movie tickets. I'll wait around until the single tickets become available again, I still have some left over to tide me over from the last time. I hope to see them soon, the reminder on RFD when that happens is helpful to grab them while they're available.

I'm not a recycling person but my way of collecting icoke points is getting them through friends. They drink the pop and I take their unused points (caps). I probably only drank maybe 5 or 6 bottles of pop.

same here!
i ordered only 2 tickets, so they're within the limit.
i thought it was only me

Me too. I order 2 tickets two weeks ago and haven't received them but I received my Cineplex Night Out ticket in 5 days. Not sure what the problem is.

I ordered 3 tickets total. In one order I had two tickets and in the second order I did a week later I had one. I got the single ticket but, haven't received the two tickets yet. It's been about 15 days. Both say they have shipped on the site. I guess we all are having issues with this.

Anyone can go in the theatre and dig through garbage cans for "points".

FYI:

I actually got a call from iCoke yesterday (depending on when you read this it was Wednesday) asking if I have received my tickets yet. I said "NO" and he apologized and said they got swamped with the number of requests and he will call me back on Nov 1 to see if I get it by then. So, they are on the way. I'm guessing this was for the order I placed on OCT 5!

Just a heads up for those waiting.

I never received a call from icoke thought but I finally received my 2 icoke passes today in the mail. I thought I would never receive them. I ordered them on Oct. 11. A bit longer than usual since I ordered the Cineplex Night Out after I ordered the 2 general passes and received it 5 days later.

So for those still waiting the passes should be arriving very soon.

MikeNet

Yes, I also received my 2 orders today. One ordered on the 5th and one ordered on the 12th. They must've had a backlog because eventhough the orders were a week apart and arrived the same day there is a six month difference in expiry dates of the tickets. :(

And the "cineplex night out" is no longer offered. It's getting worse and worse...

I know for a fact that the entertainment packs were still up when I posted an hour before you, so they have taken them off then...

I might have messed up the price of the gift card but even then that is so lame.... still a better deal the the 2L of pop for 5000 points, as by that amount of points, 6 2L Cokes is close to $25 which is so overvalued it's not even funny

I just got an email that says "don't let your iCoke coins expire" - 30-day reminder:

Don't forget: You have one month to keep your iCoke CoinsTM from disappearing. December 1, 2007 is coming fast. Keep your current balance from expiring by doing any of the following:

1) Enter PINs found under the cap of all specially marked Coca-ColaŽ products

2) Use your iCoke CoinsTM right now to buy stuff like ringtones and mobile wallpapers

3) Use your iCoke CoinsTM to enter contests like sweepstakes and the Daily Instant Win Contest

I don't get it - why would my points expire? All of my ~20,000 points are new within the last couple of weeks. The email seems to indicate that if I enter any new pins that my entire balance won't expire? WTF is going on?

It seems like iCoke is trying to clear out some of the "abuser" accounts / multiple accounts that have a tonne of points and snatch up the best rewards quick and then sell on eBay.

I got the same email. Must be another bug as I've also earned and spent coins in the last month. Their policy states they only expire after 6 months.

From http://www.icoke.ca/home/privacy/#coins:

G. iCoke Coin Expiry

1. Any iCoke Coins remaining in the iCoke Member's Account which has remained "inactive" for a period of 6 months or more prior to 11:59 p.m. November 30, 2007 ET ["the Redemption Deadline"] will be forfeited without compensation. Failure to either credit iCoke Coins to an iCoke Member Account or redeem iCoke Coins from an iCoke Member Account constitutes inactivity for the purposes of this condition.

2. Any iCoke Coins remaining in the iCoke Member's Account at the end of the Redemption Deadline will be forfeited without compensation. The iCoke Coins have no cash value and are only redeemable for offered rewards via the Program.

3. The iCoke Member may redeem iCoke Coins in the manner set forth above until 11:59 p.m. November 30, 2007, ET unless the Redemption Deadline is extended or otherwise modified by Sponsor.

I read 2 and 3 as referring to active or inactive accounts. I phoned last week and they confirmed they only refer to inactive accounts. I complained about the ambiguous and redundant wording; apparently their lawyers came up with it. Figures. Guess it's time to call again.

I also asked how much the "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" DVD will cost; they didn't know. If I recall correctly "Alpha Dog" was 25,000, a rip considering that's the equivalent of 5 movie passes.

It's because they are the only things of real value that they offer except for the concert tickets that most people would never even think of buying or contests that are practically impossible to win, it would just be throwing your points away. So whenever anything tangible becomes available on that site people buy it up because they have nothing else to spend their points on, a bottle of Coke is better than some useless points.

I think they are trying to raise how much the points are worth, they had the Golden Compass Wii game at ~130,000 points

The game retails for $49.99. Granted looking at the price of the game the gift cards look like a steal

so, i think you just have to make your account 'active' by buying something...? or adding?

bump for an old thread!

All I want to say is this: what happened with iCoke? When it started out it was pretty wicked - Redeem 5000 points and get a movie pass. Then it went up to 14,000 points for a pair of tickets. Then it went up again to 27,500 points for a pair of tickets! Now they don't even keep movie tickets in stock. I haven't seen movie tickets in stock now since Nov 2008 :(

iCoke was a great promo when you could reasonably swap points for movies. Now it is a worthless waste of time to collect points, let alone take the time to input them to the site.

Doesn't Coke realize that they are sullying their reputation with this awful promotion? Whoever/whatever marketing firm they hired to lead this promotion should have their contract torn up immediately.

I mean seriously... there is nothing tangible for sale on the iCoke site, except for some pathetic ring tones and cell phone accessories. Somehow, the movie passes are always either "sold out" or "coming soon" -- and yet most times I go to the movies in my Canadian city, there are always empty seats.

What gives, Coke???

Is it on weekdays?

Well, that's really besides the point. Movie passes are unlike, say, tickets to see the Rolling Stones. There are hundreds of screens across the country showing hundreds of different movies every night. It would not be difficult for Coke to buy some bulk movie passes for this pathetic "loyalty" program.

Wow, all the stuff they have available to buy is crap... A freakin' Coca Cola Olympic Lapel pin for 7300 points... When movie tickets used to be going for 5000 points...

On the other hand I find it hilarious that all those hoarders who but stuff from the website purely to resell it are selling the pins on ebay. Quoted from one of their auctions.

Very rare and hard to come by.

Still no Cineplex movie tickets, but Empire pair now available for the same inflated price of 27,500 coins. In the past the ticket expiration has been sooner than the Cineplex; also I notice they are not valid for studio pass restricted films:
