$1259
comes with core 2 duo T5600, 1GB DDR 667MHz memory, X1600 256MB dedicated video card, 15.4'' 1680x1050 screen. it's HP's business laptop, so the build quality should be better than other home oriented laptops.

Cnet review
HP Compaq nc8430 Notebook PC
Editors' Rating
6.6 / 10
The Good:
Slim and lightweight; large display with sharp resolution; full-size keyboard; fingerprint reader; smart card slot; three-year warranty.
The Bad:Ho-hum design; dim display; lousy speakers; lacks an ExpressCard slot.
The Bottom Line:The HP Compaq nc8430's design won't turn any heads, but the laptop does offer business-oriented features and solid performance at a competitive price.

The price is down to $1259 now. I think it's a hard-to-beat price for a laptop with X1600 video card.

why is that I can't change the title of the thread? (I can only change the title of the first post).

Because it's an HP business it should come with 3 Years Warranty as well!
This is direct manufacturers warranty which is wayyyyyy better than store warranties. HP will also pay air/overnight shipping both ways when you need service in addition to providing a box if you need one as well.

Nice price! I just wonder how well it plays games, since it's marketed as a business laptop.
OP, did you click "advanced" when you edited?

yes but that only changes the title of the first post (not the thread). don't know why.

6.6 is already good for cnet editor's reviews (not user reviews).
