i wonder if the Edge 20% discount can be applied to their current 2 for $20/30/40 deal on PPed games...

True. IIRC, the edge card itself is just a gift card.....you can store whatever amount you want on it. The membership is the sticker they put on said card.

... don't want to start a new thread for this... but if you trade in GBA or NDS games you get a 50% bump up in trade in value towards the NDS Pokemon Pearl or Diamond (preorder to get a case included). Good deal if you trade in one of the games that has a high trade in value.

For example, if you trade in New SUper Mario Bros (reg $22 trade in value), they should give you a credit of $33 towards NDS Pokemon Pearl/Diamond.

I guess YMMV, but at the 2 EBG I went to, one says deal does not start until next week (Richmond Centre location), and the other one had the deal (Metrotown location), but the games are no longer 2 for $20, 2 for $30, or 2 for $40 (they took those signs down).

the TIC you rec'v for trading games always gets put on an Edge card and when you use the TIC on the card to purchase merchandise at their stores, they don't charge tax on the subtotal.

if you were to pay w/ a GC OTOH, i believe tax is charged.

i'm not so sure you can "store whatever amt you want on it", b/c if you were asking for that, they'd prbly give you a GC instead.

I purchased the membership but did not receive a sticker or barcode or anything. . . He added my game that I traded in to an existing edge card. . . He did take my info and enter it into the computer thou and of course I will keep my receipt. . . Hopefully everything is fine with how this guy did it.

i tried to use my 10% edge when i was buying the 2/30 games to trade BACK to them for the trade 3 deal, but they said no edge discount on top of the sale.

actually, funny story... I had nearly $200 in edge credit, so I used that edge credit to buy TWELVE 2/30 games to score another 4 preorders... so that's approximately $180 in credit to get $280 in preorders.

The funny part was that the $180 in edge credit came from cancelled preorders from previous trade 3 deals.

yay for recycling.
