running Vista on "only" 1gb of ram (less 256mb because the graphic card will eat it up) is quite a pain.

If you want a basic computer for surfing the net, then ok... Else, you need 2gb of ram for anything more "serious" with Vista.. With the video memory, you have 768mb ram available. Vista with aero take about 600mb of ram.. That give you a whooping 168mb for running other software.. Forget any gaming, video or photo editing with this.

4200+ and 2GB ram (last week's deal) is better than 4400+ and 1GB ram (this deal).

This comes with a bigger hard drive too... the previous previous deal was $489 for 4200+ and 160gb hard drive. This one is $599, so for $189 you get 4400+ and 320gb.

Seems pretty good.
